Black Magic flew late from well back and widest on the turn to score a narrow but good victory. The race was run at a furious early speed and Black Magic settled down well out of her ground. She wound up with a big run in the straight and put up a big performance to win. Emmalene had every chance in the run, racing fifth one out with a trail. She had every chance in the straight and battled on strongly finding the winner on her outside slightly the better. Pane In The Glass was sound in defeat. She tracked the runner up into the race and worked home well for third. *ANZ
