Missy Longstocking, racing in blinkers for the first time, was smartly away and was eased to get an ideal trip in third place. She moved up strongly in the straight, easily took the lead passing the 200m and although tiring nearing the post, lasted to win quite well by a neck. Enquare was seventh on the rails to the 600m. She got a nice run through on straightening and improved to be third and the 200m. She then continued to make ground, without really looking likely to seriously threaten the winner, for a good second. Outsider Jet Down On It ($51) was last in the 11-horse field to the 600m. He moved up, wide out, rounding the home turn and came with a late run for an eye-catching third. The favourite Cosmic Endeavour ($2) was a little disappointing. She was about fifth one off the rails to the 600m. She was under pressure at the turn but only ran on fairly well in the final stages for fourth, beaten five lengths. *ANZ
