Three-year-old filly Doubtfilly travelled well in fifth spot on the rails to the home turn. She eased into clear running at the 300m but took a long while to wind up, coming with a late bid from the 100m to grab a short neck win at the post. Griffon was last in the ten-horse field to the turn. He went to the rails passing the 300m, eased out to take a split between runners at the 200m and came with a late run for second. Benny’s Buttons ($3.75 fav) was a handy fourth to the 600m, moved up three wide at the turn and challenged strongly at the 200m before fighting on for a close third. Shafeeq led until half way down the straight and fought back particularly well for a close fourth, finishing just in front of Funtantes who took a narrow lead at the 100m before battling on well for a close-up fifth. *ANZ
