Hopfgarten put up a good effort in overcoming his difficult barrier (16) in winning well here. He went forward after a quick beginning and after working in the early stages eased to get a good trip in third place. He moved up well coming to the home turn, dashed clear at the 300m and was not threatened from that point to score impressively. Pajaro settled back in 12th place, improved nicely to be seventh, between runners, approaching the home turn. He put in a good run, getting to a distant second at the 100m and battled well to hold that position without looking likely to trouble the winner. Amovatio settled at the tail of the 17-horse field from a wide barrier (12). He put in a run between horses on straightening and made many lengths to grab the minor placing in a photo, putting up a good effort. The favourite Religify led in the early stages, racing a bit keenly. He was pressured at the 600m and eased to be third at the home turn but he just battled on over the latter stages for (3.1 lengths) sixth.
