Analysis: Mister Milton broke through for his second win in 24 starts. He was eased to settle eleventh in the 15-horse field before getting clear in the centre at the 400m. He sprinted quickly and grabbed the lead at the 200m and went to the line to win well by just over a length. By The Way was last in the large field at the 600m. He switched out wide at the 400m and ran on well for second. That’s The One was just behind the leading pack on the flat side early but was shuffled back to eighth at the 400m before getting clear at the 200m then battling on for third, beaten two and half lengths.
