The Darley-raced three-year-old maiden Negociant scored an effortless seven length win in the small six-horse field, appreciating stepping up to 2100m at his seventh start. He began well and was eased to race in third place, following a moderate tempo. He moved up easily, three wide, nearing the home turn and raced well clear in the straight for an easy win and looks like developing into quite a handy stayer. *ANZ
