Godolphin-raced colt Cruachan, who showed promise with three placings in his first four starts, scored his first win in most impressive fashion here. He worked across from his wide barrier and took the lead nearing the 1000m. He then settled well, raced clear coming to the home turn and was then untroubled to record a very easy win, running the 1600m out strongly. It was a very smart win and he is a horse to watch.
