Gary Moore-trained two-year-old gelding Solar Patch scored a really smart first up win. Having his third race start, he settled in last place in the eight-horse field before improving along the rails approaching the home turn. He then switched deep, sprinted to the front at the 100m and then raced away to score impressively. He looks set to progress to better things and is a horse to watch.
