Alan Denham-trained filly Lilith followed her encouraging second on debut in a 2-Y-O maiden (1100m) at Randwick on 26 December with a smart win here. She showed good early pace and soon went to the front. She then travelled well, gamely fought off challengers in the straight and then drew clear to score quite impressively. She looks a promising filly. The Chris Waller-trained colt Burbank had a good trip in third place (on the rails), moved up well at the home turn, challenged strongly halfway down the straight and then battled on well for a promising second on debut. The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained filly Boudicea Belle raced outside the leader and eventual winner (Lilith), challenged that horse at the home turn and held on quite well to take third in a sound run at her second race start.
