Gerald Ryan-trained colt Fast Train looks the makings of a really handy young stayer. Having his third start and advancing to 1800m, he began quickly and settled nicely in fourth place, before moving up approaching the home turn. He took the lead at the 200m and then drew right away to score effortlessly by just over six lengths.
