After seconds at his first two starts (the latest after being relegated following a protest), the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Botttrained colt Dresden Green broke through with a determined win here. Racing in blinkers for the first time, he went to the front, was challenged strongly on straightening but he kept fighting back gamely to score by a half-length in a promising effort. The Kris Lees-trained colt Killin raced in third place on the rails, challenged on turning for home and after getting to a narrow lead, he battled well for a good second at his first start since coming from New Zealand, now having raced three times for as many seconds. Godolphin-raced colt Jetski was fifth to the home turn, challenged halfway down the straight and fought well for a closeup third while the John Sargent-trained filly Foxborough caught the eye in coming from last in the 10-horse field for (2.1 lengths) fourth in a promising debut.
