South Australian-trained mare Pretty Punk is now the winner of three of her last four starts and she put up a good staying effort in scoring here. She went forward and after being outside the leader, she remained close to the pace after some mid-race moves at 800m and then improved (wide) nearing the home turn. She went deeper on straightening (looking for better going) hit the front at the 100m and then went on to win well. The Darren Weir-trained Andrea Mantegna was handily placed in third spot, was shuffled deeper from the 800m, challenged (wide) at the home turn and kept battling on solidly to take second. Fastnet Dragon was near the rear, improved (wide with cover) from the 800m and then kept running on solidly, closest to the outside rail, to take third.
