An exciting finish to this Listed event with the highly consistent Fanicio getting up to win in a photo. He began well from his good barrier (3) and was then eased to race about eighth. He improved well passing the 500m, put in a quick run rounding the turn, then fought out a tight finish to win in the last stride. Barnsley Lad travelled well in fifth place one off the rails. He moved up wide passing the 500m, took the lead on straightening. He then fought back well and failed by the narrowest of margins to finish second. Amelias Dancer was midfield to the 600m and ran on to take third, without looking likely to threaten the first pair. *ANZ
