In a surprise result, Gee Gees Top Notch ran on well to score a good win. She settled in sixth place, one off the rails, behind a good tempo. She went deep from the 600m, challenged out wide at the 200m and finished too well to record a good win, her second stakes success after winning the Elwick Stakes (Listed, 1100m) in 2015. Geegees Goldengirl had a good trip in third place on the rails. She eased deeper and into clear running on straightening, briefly hit the front at the 50m before fighting on well for second. The short-priced favourite Hellova Street soon worked across to lead. He then travelled well until pressured at the 700m (by Geegees Baritone). He beat off that runner at the home turn but could not then answer the late challengers, holding on quite well then to take the minor placing.
