Scarlet Billows has now race twice for as many wins and looks quite promising. She followed a good debut win at Ararat on 20 September with an impressive late-closing win here. She was a little slow to move and settled last in the small seven-horse field. She improved between runners to be fifth nearing the home turn but was held up for a run. She got a split passing the 100m and then burst clear for a soft win at the post. She looks capable of much better things. Astro Miss showed pace and raced outside the leader (Lavender Bay) to the turn. She took a narrow lead at the 100m and then fought on quite well for a sound second. Lavender Bay led the field until half way down the straight and held on to take third, beaten two lengths. *ANZ
