Bantam showed pace and soon drove through from his good barrier (3) to hold the lead. He then had little peace in front and briefly looked beaten in the straight, but he fought back particularly well, putting up a good effort to score in a very close finish. Miss Idyllic had a good trip in fourth place, one out and one back before moving up nearing the home turn. She looked the winner when she took a narrow lead at the 100m and then battled on well for second, beaten only a nose. Tiffany Cash Man was eased from barrier eight and settled last in the nine-horse field. She was conceding the leaders about seven lengths coming to the home turn, fanned deep on straightening and caught the eye with his late closing third, putting up a good effort on debut. Miss Gidget travelled well in third place on the rails, put in a run on passing the 200m and kept running on for a close-up fourth after seeming to have every chance.
