Ciaron Maher-trained filly Petits Filous won most impressively here on debut, relishing the Heavy8 conditions. She was quickly away and showed good pace to cross from barrier nine to take the lead. She then travelled strongly in front, dashed clear nearing the home turn and then went on to win effortlessly, being eased down by Damien Oliver over the latter stages, still scoing by six lengths. Darren Weir-trained Labuan Star also did well on debut. She raced in third place, went to second at the home turn and battled on quite well to hold second place, although outclassed by the winner.
