Darren Weir-trained colt Artie Dee Two is now unbeaten after two starts following his debut win in a Two-Year-Old Maiden (1200m) on 3 June with a really good win here. He began well from his wide barrier (9) and then settled in fifth place, trapped deep without cover. He challenged (still wide) rounding the home turn, got to the front at the 100m and went on to win impressively despite a difficult trip. Tenappy Ladies went to the front, fought on well when challenged, only being overtaken at the 100m before holding on for a good second. Godolphin’s colt Trenchant was sixth to the 600m and made ground, without threatening, to take the minor placing.
