The Lindsay Park-trained filly Catchy put up a really promising effort in winning here on debut. She was eased from her outside barrier (7) and settled at the tail of the seven-horse field, behind a good tempo, before improving between runners rounding the home turn. She got through to third at the 100m and then finished far too well, appearing to score with something in hand in an impressive effort. The Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young-trained filly Garrard was slowly away from her inside barrier (1) but was ridden hard in the early stages and she worked along the rails to take lead. She was then pressured mid-stages and led the field until the final 100m before fighting on for a very good second on debut. The Darren Weir-trained filly Limestone was third on the rails, challenged on straightening for then fought gamely for a close-up third, also going well on debut.
