The Robbie Griffiths-trained filly Something Violet scored a good win here on debut. She was smartly away from her good barrier (2) and settled nicely behind the leader (Prepare To Win). She got a split at the home turn, challenged on straightening and fought gamely in the closing stages to score a good win. The Lindsay Park-trained Prepare To Win showed good pace to lead, held a break on turning for home, was only headed at the 50m before finishing second after running a bold race on debut. Prosecution, a filly from the Darren Weir stable also racing on debut, did not show a lot of early pace and settled in fifth place on the rails. She was under riding coming to the home turn, got along the inner on straightening and kept making ground for third, looking suited to further.
