1print (Bm64)
Robert Smerdon-trained Tezlah is an improving colt who followed his win in a Moe 3YO Maiden (1200m) on 19 October at his second race start with another good win, stepping up in class here. He travelled well in fifth place (one off the rails) behind a good tempo before moving up well rounding the home turn. He got to the front at the 100m and then fought back to win well. Mastering did not show any early pace and settled in last place in the nine-horse field. He went widest of all nearing the home turn and then ran on strongly for a late-closing second in a really promising effort at his fourth race start. Pique also drifted back in the early stages, settled in second last place, improved (under riding) coming to the home turn and kept running on well for a close-up third.
