Godolphin-raced two-year-old Demonstrate scored for his first win in five starts, winning nicely here. He began well and soon drove through to take the lead. He then travelled well, grabbed a good break on straightening and went on to win comfortably. The Robert Smerdon-trained filly Chabaud did very well on debut in running second. She was trapped three wide, without cover, outside the leading pair, got to second on turning for home and did not shirk her task fighting on well for second after a difficult trip.
