Some interesting runs in this three-year-old fillies’ race. The Vince Nolen-trained Central Pass is now the winner of her past two starts, following her win in a Wagga Maiden (1600m) on 28 November at her seventh race start, with a smart win, stepping up in class here. She raced in fifth place before making a quick move, to race outside the leader (Rockmehartie) at the 700m. She got to the front nearing the home turn and then fought back to win in a promising effort. The Lindsay Parktrained American Rush was back in seventh place, improved (deep) from the 600m (under riding) and kept battling on well in the straight for a sound second. The Lee and Anthony Freedman-trained filly Dancing Hare went back from barrier eight and settled in second last place in the nine-horse field. She moved up (wide with cover) from the 700m, went widest of all coming to the home turn and kept running on well in the straight for a close-up third at only her second race start in a solid effort. She should appreciate further.
