A strong staying performance by My Ex Mate who enjoyed a lovely run in the race in seventh, three back on the fence. He tracked up strongly improving his position along the rails from the 800m before taking a clear lead on cornering for home. He opened up a big margin at the top of the straight and stayed on strongly the whole way to the line to score well. Talent Show raced ninth on the fence behind the winner. He improved between runners before switching out into the clear in the straight to stay on steadily taking some ground off the winner late on. Titch had every possible chance racing in fourth place on fence before staying on at one pace in the straight. *ANZ
