Star of Giselle jumped best and adopted her preferred front-running role. After setting only a moderate pace she was able to kick strongly in the straight for a narrow win. Danish Spy ran well above expectations with excellent second. She settled last and saved ground along the fence to just fail. She will appreciate a step up in distance. Lake Sententia had her chance. Despite being slightly held up at top of straight she got out in plenty of time and looked likely at the 200m, running home well but could not reel in the winner. Epingle was desperately unlucky. Restrained in last position she was making up plenty of ground down the outside when she was hampered at the 50m. Her closing sectionals were the fastest of the race. *ANZ
