Crabbing was smartly away and was eased to settle outside the leader (Red Magnet). He challenged that runner at the turn and after a great battle he managed to beat his rival by a long head. Red Magnet showed good pace to lead. He fought back gamely when challenged in the straight, holding on for a good second. Our Miss Bossy ($2.40 joint favourite) raced in sixth three wide without cover to the 600m, was still giving the leaders about five lengths at the 200m, and then produced a strong late run to finish a close third. The Peter Moody-trained filly Kona Breeze ($2.40 joint favourite) had a good run in fourth spot one out and one back before moving up to third at the home turn. She was under pressure on straightening and just kept battling on for fourth after seeming to have every chance. *ANZ
