Prime Seven Beaumont Hcp
Gerald Ryan-trained colt Fortress Command is now unbeaten in two starts, following his debut win in a two-year-old maiden (1350m) at Wyong on February 19, with a very good win here. He settled back in eighth place, tracking a good tempo, before improving (deep) approaching the home turn. He responded to Brett Prebble's urgings to take the lead at the 100m and then drew away to win clearly. Bullet Fly was handy to the lead and held on for second with the John O'Shea-trained colt Daumier making ground from back in tenth place for third on debut, despite racing greenly in the straight, and he should improve for the experience.
