Classy mare Magnifisio scored a good first-up win, her fourth win in succession and her ninth from 17 starts. She raced behind the leader Travinator and was blocked on turning for home. She got into the clear at the 200m and then finished too well to win in smart time with something in hand by a length and a half. Travinator led the field until half-way down the straight and battled on nicely for second while Honest Lies ran on well from second last in the nine-horse field at the turn to finish third, beaten three lengths. *ANZ
