Our Voodoo Prince began well from his good barrier (3) and settled nicely in seventh place one off the rails, following a good tempo. He was briefly held up behind a packing field nearing the home turn, Damien Oliver then angled him deep and into clear running on straightening. He challenged strongly at the 200m and finished a bit too well for a good win. Duplicity Jones was a handy third most of the way before moving up to challenge on turning for home. He then battled strongly for a good second. Second Bullet had a good run in second place, following a good tempo (behind the leader Use The Lot). He got to the front at the 300m and fought back well for a close-up third. Harveys True Heart was eighth on the rails, stuck to the inner and got through to fourth at the 200m and battled on quite well to hold that position at the post. Favourite Plot The Course was ninth, one off the rails, improved (deep) rounding the home turn, challenged at the 200m but then just kept battling on for fifth, beaten just under four lengths.
