Kirov Boy took the lead on passing the winning post on the first occasion. He then ran along at a good tempo, setting up a clear lead in the mid-stages. He grabbed a good break rounding the home turn and was never threatened in the straight to win by just under a length. Ask Me Nicely was fourth to the 400m and gradually made ground on the winner to finish second, beaten three quarter lengths. Global Flirt led in the early stages before easing and then raced in third place most of the way to the home turn. He went through to second at the 200m and battled on for (0.8 lengths) third after seeming to have every chance. The favourite Tick Tick Bloom was back in fifth place, following a good tempo. She was under pressure on turning for home and kept plugging on quite well to finish (1.2 lengths) fourth, without looking like a winning chance.
