The filly Mossfun ($3.25 fav) was quickly away from her good barrier (3) and travelled well outside the leader Dual Star. She challenged strongly nearing the 200m, got to a narrow lead at the 100m and then fought gamely for a gusty head win on debut. The Paul Messara-trained filly Dual Star ($15) went to the front and held a narrow advantage on the rails until half way down the straight. She battled back particularly well when challenged, holding on for a close second. Baio had to work in the early stages from his outside barrier (12) to race in third place, but trapped three deep outside the leading pair until into the straight. He felt the pressure from the 200m but still held on well, after his early efforts, to take the minor placing, beaten just over three lengths. *ANZ
