Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained filly Luskintyre Lass staged a promising effort in winning here at her second race start. She showed good early pace to share the lead (with Assioma, racing on the rails), travelling at a good tempo. After quite a battle on straightening, she held a narrow advantage at the 100m and then fought gamely to score by a half-head in a solid performance. The Chris Waller-trained filly Toryjoy settled back in eighth place on the rails, got along the inner on turning for home, challenged at the 100m and fought well for a close second in a good first up effort at only her second race start. Sazavee, a stablemate of the winner, was wide early on before settling in third place, but caught three wide without cover. She then kept fighting on gamely for a close up third, also staging a good effort at her second race start, while the favourite Stock Up was sixth to the home turn and responded to riding with a late run for (0.6 lengths) fourth.
