Smart Victorian-trained filly Politeness won impressively, overcoming a difficult outside barrier (18). She was eased at the start by Craig Williams and remained near last to the 600m before improving (wide with cover) rounding the home turn. She fanned wider still at the 300m and came with a strong late run to score by a length and a quarter, being eased at the post for a comfortable win. She is a smart filly. Cosmic Endeavour began smartly but was trapped deep from her wide barrier (14) and she travelled in about sixth place (wide-out). She put in a good run to be in a challenging position at the 200m and fought on well for a good second. Darley’s Miniature was midfield, between runners, got a split at the 300m and took the lead shortly afterwards. She then battled on nicely for a sound third. The favourite Northern Glory raced midfield and wide after starting from a difficult barrier (17). She improved (wide-out) rounding the home turn, looked a threat at the 200m and then battled on quite well for two lengths fourth after a difficult trip. *ANZ
