Winx put up yet another great performance when winning her ninth successive race and her sixth Group One. She went back from her wide barrier (11) and settled well in second last place in the 15-horse field and she remained there to the 600m. She improved between runners at the home turn, got a split at the 300m, burst to the front at the 150m and then drew away to score impressively. Happy Clapper raced wide with cover back in tenth place. He made a good run in the centre of the track from the 300m, challenged at the 150m and then fought very well for a good second. Azkadellia was eased to settle in last place. She made ground along the rails coming to the home turn and got through on the inner to challenge at the 200m. She then fought on in good style for third and put up a smart effort. Vergara went to the front, ran along at a good pace and grabbed a clear break on straightening. She was overtaken on passing the 200m and did well in holding on for fourth after staging a bold frontrunning effort. Bow Creek was slow to move but recovered to settle in eighth place between runners. He was under riding at the home turn and kept battling on quite well to finish fifth.
