Less Is More travelled well in seventh place on the rails, following a moderate early tempo (first 1200m 1:14.53). He got a nice run along the rails nearing the home turn, went to third on straightening and challenged at the 200m. He hit the lead at the 50m and then fought back for a narrow but good win. Ironstein was back in ninth place on the rails before following the winner though at the turn. He then kept running on surprisingly well and only failed by a long head at the post for a good second. Winning Glory led and steadied the pace mid-stages. He grabbed a break on straightening and held on quite well for third, beaten a length. Euryale was about tenth most of the way to the 600m and made ground for fourth, without threatening. Darci Be Good was handy all the way and held on for fifth while Honorius was eighth, one off the rails, went wide from the 600m and kept battling on in the sprint home for sixth, being unsuited by the moderate early pace. *ANZ
