Outstanding filly Earthquake maintained her unbeaten record making it four starts for four wins with a decisive victory and is now an even firmer favourite for Saturday week’s Golden Slipper Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m). *ANZ She went forward from her barrier (8) and soon took the lead. Kerrin McEvoy steered her wide on straightening, she dug deep when challenged at the 200m and drew clear nearing the post to win clearly by a length and a quarter in a very smart effort. Previously unbeaten Mossfun raced outside her main rival Earthquake, challenged her strongly mid-stretch and then battled gamely for a most creditable second placing. Alpha Miss raced midfield, trapped three deep without cover. She moved up rounding the home turn, put in a good run passing the 200m and fought on particularly well for an excellent third. More Radiant went back in the early stages and settled last in the nine-horse field. She improved wide from the 600m and kept running on in very good style to just miss third in a photo. She looks suited to further and is a highly promising filly. The Black Opal Stakes (Listed, 1200m) winner Lucky Raquie raced in seventh place most of the way to the turn. She looked for a run in the centre at the 200m then kept battling on gamely to the post for a sound fifth, beaten two and a quarter lengths. She too looks suited to further. Twirl was fourth to the turn and seemed to have every chance before finishing sixth. *ANZ
