Sweet Idea began well from her wide barrier (11) and was then eased by Blake Shinn to settled in seventh place, following a fast pace. She switched out at the 300m, sprinted quickly to hit the front at the 100m and then dashed clear for an impressive first-up victory. Kuro was back in third place, he moved up nicely on straightening and challenged strongly at the 200m before fighting on well for a good second. Miracles Of Life went back from her difficult barrier (13) and raced in 11th place to the home turn. She switched wide on straightening, got to fifth at the 100m and finished well for a very good third. Fast ‘N’ Rocking was 12th to the 600m, went to centre on turning for home and made good ground for (2.5 lengths) fourth. Chloe In Paris raced in second place to the home turn, got to the front at the 200m and held on well for (2.7 lengths) fifth. Knoydart was ninth on the rails and kept battling on along the rails for (3 lengths) sixth. Rubick raced in tenth place, between runners, was under riding on turning for home and made some ground for (3.8 lengths) seventh while the favourite Deep Field showed a lot of pace to lead from the outside barrier (14). He led clearly on turning for home before tiring to finish 11th, beaten just under eight lengths.
