Two-year-old gelding Dupe ‘Em won very well here on debut. He was a little slow to move and settled back in ninth place in the 10-horse field. He saved ground at the home turn by sticking to the rails, went through to fourth at the 400m and responded well from the 200m, running on gamely along the rails to win in good style by half a length. He looks suited to further and is quite promising. Bulls ‘N’ Bears was smartly away and he travelled well outside the leader before going to the front at the 200m. He then battled back gamely when challenged for a good second. *ANZ
