The half-sister to dual Group One winner Samaready (More Than Ready), Samatested has now raced three times for two wins and a second, albeit a narrow win here. She had a good trip in third place on the rails but was blocked until gaining a split between runners at the 200m. She challenged shortly afterwards and then kept battling gamely to score in a photo finish. Lotion raced outside the leader (Alilad), went to the front nearing the 200m and then fought back well for a close second. War Point was slowly away from his outside barrier (9) and settled in last place. He was giving the leader about six lengths as he began to improve, under pressure, nearing the turn. But he kept responding to Damien Oliver, making up good late ground for a third, looking suited to further. *ANZ
