The Mitchell Freedman-trained three-year-old Greviste is now the winner of two of his four starts, both achieved this preparation. He was eased from his wide barrier (9) and settled back in eighth place, on the rails. He looked for a run on straightening, got a split at the 200m and finished too well to score by a long neck, going away, in a really promising effort. The Lindsay Park-trained filly Ajuda led the field, set an average mid-race tempo and looked the winner when she grabbed a good break at the 300m. But she could not hold of the late-closing winner before finishing a sound second.
