Stuart Webb-trained filly Crown Witness staged a very promising effort in winning here on debut. She was a bit slow to move but soon recovered to settle in third place, in a group of leaders, before easily taking the lead at the 300m. She increased her advantage from the 200m and then went on to score impressively. She looks a smart sprinting filly. The Lindsay Park-trained filly Taqdees was slowly away, settled in ninth place, tracking a good tempo. She got through to be just behind the leading group on straightening, went to second at the 150m and then fought on nicely to hold that position to the post in a good debut effort.
