The Robert Smerdon-trained colt Superhard is now unbeaten in two starts, following his debut win in decisive debut win at Pakenham on 22 August with a narrow but good win here. He was smartly away and settled nicely in third place, behind a good tempo before responding to challenge on passing the 100m. He then finished a bit too well to score a very good win. Written Choice, also a smart winner on debut, scoring here on 23 August again showed pace and raced outside the leader (Wait For No One), got the upper hand at the 200m only to be caught nearing the post for a good second after running a bold race.
