The Darren Weir-trained filly Mrs Gardenia followed her win in a Moonee Valley Maiden (1519m) on 3 February at her third race start to win really well here. She was smartly away and soon crossed to the lead. She then steadied the pace (first 1000m in 63.02) before picking up the tempo from the 600m. She got a break at the 300m and then went on to score decisively, running the 1600m out strongly.
