NZ-bred mare Tarloshan continues to race in good form since coming to Queensland in November, now winning two of her last three starts. She was quickly away and went straight to the front. She then travelled well, being able to set a moderate tempo (first 800m 50.79) before lifting the pace from the 600m. She got a clear break at the 150m and went on to win easily by two and a half lengths, relishing the Soft7 conditions. Into The Red raced outside the leader, challenged strongly at the 200m but found the winner too good and fought on for (2.5 lengths) second. Time To Plunder had a nice trip in fourth place, one out and one back. He put in a run on passing the 300m and fought on well in the sprint home for a sound third.
