Look To The Stars was smartly away from barrier ten and then settled well outside the leader (Kim Noir). They then steadied the pace (first 1000m 62.41) before she moved up to take the lead at the 200m. She then fought back strongly to score a really good win. Queen Of Wands settled nicely back in tenth place before improving nearing the home turn. She put in a run from the 300m but took a while to pick-up in the sprint home and then made good late ground for second, being disadvantaged by the steady mid-race tempo. The $101 outsider Sahara Siren was back in 12th place, between runners, fanned deep on turning for home and caught the eye running on well to grab third in a photo.
