Raja Seat was eased from his wide barrier (6) and settled back in sixth place in the small seven-horse field. Kerrin McEvoy asked him for an effort nearing the 600m and the colt moved up well (wide-out), took a narrow lead at the 200m and then fought back gamely to score a narrow but good win. Charlie Royale was last to the 600m before going to the extreme outside rounding the home turn. He challenged in the centre of the course at the 200m and then battled quite well, racing a bit greenly to take second, beaten a long neck. *ANZ
