Master Agar scored his first win in three starts, narrowly but in good style, appreciating stepping up to 1600m. He relaxed nicely in fourth place on the rails, switched out on turning for home, got to a narrow lead at the 100m and battled well to win by a halfhead. He looks a staying type that will appreciate further and looks to have a good future. Kanji raced three wide in third place, without cover. He took the lead at the 200m and fought back particularly well for a close second, his second such placing in two starts to date. He looks a young stayer with potential. Nazir was slowly away and settled near last. He improved (wide out) from the 600m, challenged at the 200m but tired late after a hard run for third. He also looks the makings of a handy young stayer.
