Chris Waller-trained colt Multifacets is now a winner of two of his last three starts. He was ridden patiently by Hugh Bowman and settled back in eighth place, improved between runners nearing the home turn, got to fourth at the 200m, hit the front at the 100m and fought back to win well. Bjorn Baker-trained three-year-old Crosley Hotshot was near last to the home turn, switched between runners on straightening and ran on well for a good second while Appoint Percy was handily placed all the way, briefly looked the winner when he took the lead at the 200m and then fought on well for a sound third.
