Chris Waller-trained fillies fought out the finish here. Ocean Spray, who was having her second run this preparation, enjoyed a good trip in third place behind the leaders but was under riding on straightening. She took a while to wind up before hitting the front at the 50m and went on to score with something in hand. She should appreciate further and is a filly to watch. Her stablemate Echo Queen settled at the tail of the seven-horse field and remained there until taken deep on turning for home. She then ran on in promising fashion to take a good second and could also be suited by a longer trip. Pepperberry, who has finished second at her first three starts, led the field until the 200m and held on to take the minor placing.
