A number of interesting efforts here. The Joe Pride-trained colt Krusty broke through for his first win in five starts. Having his second run this preparation, he settled in fourth place, one out and one back, moved up nicely coming to the home turn, got to the front at the 100m and then went on to win well. The Gerald Ryan-trained colt Gothenburg, a son of the 1996 Golden Slipper Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) winner Merlene (Danehill), raced in fifth place on the rails, improved between runners at the home turn, took a while to wind up and then ran on well, late, for a promising second on debut, looking suited to further. The Ron Quinton-trained Gracious Grey battled on well for a close-up third. The Coolmore-raced filly Peaceful Sea raced outside the leader and held on for (0.9 lengths) fourth while the Chris Waller-trained Oklahoma Girl was handily placed but was blocked at a crucial stage and looked unlucky in running (1.3 lengths) fifth.
